Moles can be defined as clusters of pigmented cells that often appear as small, dark brown spots. They can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Most skin moles are usually harmless and may not look cosmetically pleasing. A percentage of seemingly harmless moles can sometimes become cancerous. Dr. Robert T. Motazedi, M.D. has been removing cancerous and benign moles for more than 30 years. Patients must be evaluated in order to determine what type of lesion they have. Suspicious growths are sent to pathology to determine if they have any cancerous components. After results are received, the proper treatment will be selected to eradicate the lesion.
Genetics is one of the most important factors in the growth of moles. Most people will develop moles throughout their lifetime. Some people are genetically predisposed towards making moles. Moles can occur anywhere on the body including the face, neck and trunk.
Dr. Motazedi understands that patients are looking for a cosmetic procedure to remove a mole they find unpleasant especially when it occurs on their face. He has vast experience removing moles on all skin types including those with darker skin. Many devices and techniques are employed when Dr. Motazedi removes these annoying lesions. His ultimate goal is to remove the mole or moles with as little scarring as possible. 90% of patients report a high level of satisfaction with the outcome of their treatment.
